// Ethics
Civilian use only.
Lindwurm is developed for civilian applications. Full stop.
We do not develop, license, or support weapons systems, autonomous military applications, or technologies whose purpose is to harm people. This is not a policy document that can be amended when a contract is large enough — it is a design requirement.
Our long-term goal is to anchor this constraint in the technology itself, down to the hardware level: a humane-use boundary that is a property of the system — not a promise of its makers.
What this means in practice
Proportionality, formalized
Our research on decision and ethics models asks the uncomfortable question precisely: where does the threshold lie — and what evidence is needed to cross it?
Privacy as an engineering constraint
Data minimization, anonymization, and privacy-preserving computation are built into the architecture, not bolted on for compliance.
Audit as a product property
Every conclusion the system reaches can be traced, explained, and independently verified. We consider a result that cannot be audited a result that does not exist.
Ethics is an engineering constraint. Here, it is also a product property.
